A Message From The President

In 2010, group homes and community-based programs in Virginia are facing extraordinary reductions in funding, impossible choices, and pressure to maintain full services in a declining budget environment. Few would dispute that these are challenging times that are testing our ability to fulfill our mission of service to our clients and our communities.

Fortunately, VCRCA members have the experience, professionalism, and ingenuity to keep as many of our programs afloat as possible and to adapt to changing times. This moment calls for new ways of getting things done and strong advocacy to our stakeholders, communities, and state government.

In spite of our constraints, the Virginia Community and Residential Care Association will press on to fulfill our mission:

To provide efficient, effective, and accredited community-based and residential treatment programs and services to those youth and families who require such services. Further, it is the mission of VCRCA to administer these programs with compassion, fairness, expertise, and prudence, with the aim to uphold the dignity and worth of each person who is served.
